I have come to this realization on several occasions. One such occasion I am sure you’ll appreciate: getting a new ID. I had only been on campus for maybe three weeks, but I was already on my second ID card because the first one’s barcode had already worn off.

I received a notice in the mail saying that my ID number had changed. So I had to go in for ID #3.

No problem. All I had to do after getting this ID was to call the guy who was in charge of security for the residence halls and let him know my new number so I could get into my building. Simple, right?

If this had been while school was in session though, I would have had to do more work… Not only would I have to get an RA or Residence Coordinator to activate the new card, I would have to go to the dining services office and let them know my new number. Then I would have to let the library know so that I could check out materials there. Also, I would have to let the HPER (Rec. Center) know…

Wouldn’t it be easier if we just had ONE system? …but that would make sense…
