OK…. now that the day has passed and Ben told the staff of CedarCreek already… I figure I’m safe to post it here… On Sunday night (7/6/03) Luke proposed to Sara! He did it in front of his family down in Myrtle Beach on the pier in Surfside, S.C. Family vacation = really happy for them… They’d been dating for over 4 years and will be getting married about two years from now when Luke finishes up college… WOOT for them! So now everyone in our small group is engaged… Kinda funny really…
Wedding Schedule:
Micah and Kelly – October 2003
Jayson and Jess – March 2004
Me and Sarah – May 2004
Luke and Sara – ???? 2005
Man that’s fun… In other news, Sarah picked out her wedding dress but I can’t see it… I HAVE seen the bridesmaid’s dresses… We’ve got our hall reserved, church reserved, pastor (also our small group leader) reserved… Wedding party is confirmed… Lauren Miller is going to sing at our wedding! I’m talking to photographers and florists… Sarah and her mom are looking at designing centerpieces for the reception tables… We have a preliminary guest list… We’re cruising right along here! The goal is to do as much up front as possible and save the stress when time is being crunched. Speaking of which, I need to get crackin on those engagement photos and pick one out, clean it up, and get that announcement in the paper!
BACK TO NORMAL LIFE:
OK… I am sitting in my new leather, high-back, officemax chair that I bought/got for my birthday… My mom paid for half of it… and I’m happy… I just decided that after 5 years of a folding chair, a nice office chair sounded great. So at about 4am a nasty storm rolled in and I couldn’t sleep anymore… I got up and did what any engineer would do… I built something. I assembled the chair and am currently enjoying it’s plush buttocks support…
Today Dugan and I went disc golfing… kinda… We were on the 11th hole of BG’s course… in 20mph wind… when it hit. We both putted and our putts were caught in a 60mph gust… and ended up further away than when we started… then the 60mph rain came… FAST. So needless to say we were soaked… and called it a day when whatever we threw ended up at a 90 degree angle from our original target direction. Normally this wouldn’t have been THAT big of a deal except my $550 digital camera was with us! Luckily it was preserved under Dugan’s shirt and in it’s case long enough for me to run the 1/4 mile to my car (not fun), and drive back to pick up Tim.
Later that night Dugan, Drew, and I went out. We went to Temperance, MI. to play at Vienna park… That course SUCKED. VERY hard course to shoot. Extremely narrow with a LOT of trees and bushes. I spent more time in the underbrush of the forest than I did on the fairway… Also, about 75% of the holes are curved to the right at the end… This caters to forehand throwers like Luke and Drew, but destroys backhand players like Dugan and me. In the end, I was a mosquito bitten, bitter, disc golfer that developed a quick hatred for Temperence, MI.
OK… gotta try and sleep… it’s almost 6am now…
Mood: Awake! (Stupid messed up internal clock…)
