Freaky… I just found this via Anna’s site… Just goes to show that the Catholic population of America is NOT concerned when the pope does something like this… it’s just accepted as “OK” despite the obsurdity of it all…  The pope kisses the Koran and bows down to it… A book that blatantly tells that Christ was NOT GOD… that he was just a messenger… and then it tells Muslims to not befriend Christians or Jews, but to wage a Holy war…  … … Yeah… nice work pope… kiss that book…. moron….  MAN the Catholic leadership is a joke!

I am totally in agreement with Anna on this one… the world is quickly coming to an end.  Soon the Catholic faith will “join as one” with the other world religions…  Christ will have no place of distinguished glory in the eyes of the religions…  the New World Order will arise… and the end times will begin…. …. and I’m OUTTA HERE!  When is it gonna happen?  This year?  Next year?  50 years?  100 years?  No clue… but at the pace the pope is going now… I wouldn’t be shocked if it was tomorrow!

Updated link… I found this one when searching via Google and it is the same story without a lot of the propaganda/biased pictures…  I thought it was a more fair representation of what happened.

Well Anna and others can assert that that is what is happening in this picture, but I can’t verify it. You can’t even tell from this picture if he is graciously accepting a gift or kissing it. For that matter, how do you even know what book it is? The “source” is an inactive link. This link you recommend is nothing but a rant, and says nothing about Catholics http://www.garykah.org/html/popekoran.htm My recommendation is that you say away from anna. I see she’s already infected you with her hate speech.

I’m kind of going to play the devil’s advocate here because I guess I like to argue:

“Just goes to show that the Catholic population of America is NOT concerned when the pope does something like this.”  Have you conducted a survey of the Catholic population?  Have you talked to a Catholic about this?  Because my guess is just because this picture is floating around the net doesn’t mean it’s pasted up at St. Mary’s or wherever.  And like Yorel, I wouldn’t trust any old picture on the net without getting all the facts.

Making generalizations about the members of certain religions is dangerous for a lot of reasons, but one of them is that it causes a “them versus us” mentality.  How are you going to win people to Christ by treating them as enemies?  And it doesn’t do much for your cause when you say “Jesus is not religion” but you draw battle lines based on what kind of church someone attends.

I personally don’t get the whole end-times prophecy madness.  (I also don’t get why some people are so gung-ho about it anyway.  Okay, you’re going to heaven, but your buddies are supposedly stuck on a hellish planet for seven years or something?  According to someone’s interpretation?)  There have been hundreds of times in history where everyone was positive the end was near.  It’s not a bad thing to think about and consider, but when you start looking for signs everywhere you’re just setting yourself up to be misled.  Feel free to argue with me about this, I’m just saying.

T, I’m not going to argue with you about the looking for signs thing… I’m not…. But this was a disgusting act that I saw and it caught my eye… and Yorel… I looked into that link… The site that published the link is actually the Itallian Vatican.  The reason it is down is because they recently dropped past articles before sept. 2002, and this one was from 1999.  But if you want validity of this happening…. do a Google search for “Pope Koran” and see what you find… it is WELL documented!

T, as far as talking to Catholics about this… my entire family is Catholic… I’ve discussed MANY issues of this sort… Am I trying to convert people with this post?  No.  Am I pointing out the attrociousness of the leadership?  Yes.  If Catholics don’t mind that… good for them.  Jesus is not religion… but you can’t say “HEY, I believe whacked out stuff and back a religion that states Jesus isn’t the savior…” and then say that you are a follower of Christ.

As far as End Times go… I’m not 100% sure of the way it’ll work… no one is.  Some say the rapture happens before the 7 years… some say mid…. some say at the end… But the fact remains… The world as a whole is so much worse off now than it was merely 50 years ago…. that it’s hard to see that, and not question what is happening.

Oh… and Yorel… I don’t agree with everything Anna says… or the way she delivers it… but to say that she’s “infected me with her hate speech” is extremely wrong.  There is a far cry between hate speech and telling the true actions of others.  Yes I called the pope a moron… and the catholic leadership a joke… but how can you bow to a book that tells you your life is spent serving, not God, but a man.  And that they are to not befriend us… but kill us.  How can you acknowledge the sanctity of a book that tells others to harm you… THEN, how can you put a man who does THAT in the highest possible leadership position of your church?  THAT is why it is a joke.

  • TheWeeble says:

It is true that the leadership in many of the mainline Christian churches is going to pot.  That’s why my family left the Lutheran church and now doesn’t attend any mainline churches.

As for the rumor…. There are many sources saying that it’s true.  Here are only a few:

    http://www.garykah.org/html/popekoran.htm
    http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/popekiss.html
    http://ic.net/~erasmus/RAZ394.HTM
    http://www.mayimhayim.org/Pope%20Kissing%20the%20Koran.htm
    http://www.dailycatholic.org/issue/2002May/may24mdi.htm
    http://focusonjerusalem.com/popekissingkoran.html

If that isn’t the Pope kissing the Koran, wouldn’t the Catholic church deny the rumor up and down?  I don’t see the church taking a stand…..

I normally don’t get into these things, but I just wanted to say that as a person who was raised Catholic, and who has therefore been aware of the pope for my whole life, I would just all advise you to just ignore whatever he does.  He’s how old now? 108 or so?  I mean, the man is teetering on the edge, and even back in 1999 he was a little off.  I don’t practice Catholicism anymore, but am still Christian and don’t agree with the Koran.  But the guy probably thought he was at Disneyland and the book was his mom or a creme pie or something.  So, until he bites it, just be aware that he’s not quite with it anymore.  😉

    … …. HAHAHAHA  that’s freakin hilarious Maggie… Yeah… I was raised Catholic too…. been there….
