Hey, glad to see you’re back in the land of the living! Does this mean the illness has passed? As for your former blog, kudos for articulating your position so well. As you may have discovered from my recent entries, I’m a Catholic… by choice. But I respect your position and I especially respect your outspoken dedication to God and your religion. Bravo.
thanks… and no… still sick… but less sick… I can talk again without pain and my nose is the only real hinderance to normality at this point… so… I’m getting there!
Well, I’ll agree that it’s interesting reading… but I’ll let you do your thang here and not go any further with it. ((wink!)) As long as you’re Biblically sound, we’s kewl. LoL!!
But I’m just not so sure ‘agreeing-to-disagree’ is a “good stuff”…
sometimes…. you just have to. It’s not my job to change their minds… only to express what I know as truth and let them decide. Jesus never forced truth down the throats of those who listened to his sermons…. he SPOKE truth… but never forced approval. In fact, for every follower he had, there were many more against him…. Our job is to speak the truth in love and let God work in the hearts of those who hear it…. not to argue them into submission…. Can we really expect them to argue and then go… “oh…. ….. you’re right… nevermind…” Not likely… People’s hearts are closed when they’re on the defensive. Instead we hear their stance, they hear ours… and they decide what they believe. We answer questions, provide guidance, and speak the Biblical truths of life… whether or not they agree 100%…. their call. I’d rather agree to disagree publically with a million readers watching… than argue my point into the ground just for the sake of “winning.” I know where I stand. I know God’s truth. I will not back down and change my footing on it… But at the same time, I don’t want to come across as attacking to those who disagree…. …. just my philosophy…. always has been… always will be. word? word.
I agree with your latest comment. Sometimes an argument does absolutely no good – their mind is set, and no matter how cohesive, logical, and sound your argument may be, they are not likely to change their mind.
There was an atheist on my floor who thoroughly enjoyed debate. There was no way I was going to give him the satisfaction – especially since most of his arguments were based on biased reporting – so I avoided debating him whenever possible. His mind was set, and most of the information I have was not easily accessible in my personal database, so I probably was not the best proponent of Christianity for those discussions. Something I’ve been trying to work on, but memory is not my strong suit.
Thanks again for your comments!

P.S.: Ask Kate about her music video when you get back from Spring Break…
