The time for heros has passed… and all I’m left with is a brief memory of a day gone by, and chocolate pudding spilled upon the cement.
I know you’re thinking… “WHAT?” to the title… to answer you… I reply… “Nevermind.” Moving on, I’m totally married now. My beautiful wife is amazing and I love spending all my waking hours in her presence…. (I know, I know… ::gag::) I’m sure time will take its toll and we’ll be sick of each other in 30 years, but either way this journey should be exciting and I am thrilled to have such a good friend by my side as we explore what Christ has in store for us.
The honeymoon was great… Never a drop of rain. We had rain all around our city all week, but it never hit us. We went parasailing and snorkeling… we played putt-putt and had the occassional rummy game in a random airport. The Gulf of Mexico is beautiful. The water is crystal clear with a green tint and the sand is powder white. They call it the emerald coast… now I know why. Myrtle Beach can’t even stand against the ocean of the Gulf.
The resort was awesome too… we had 15 shuttles on call to take us anywhere. The rental car company forgot to charge us the under age fee…. and for $140 off, I’m not about to point out their shabby accounting… besides… they were a hassle anyway. They didn’t have the car we reserved in when we got there, and they forgot they were “closed” at 4pm despite our 5:30pm reservation two months prior and my confirmation call 6 days prior. At least they had someone stay after to help us, but either way… I’ll take the $140 and be happy!
We ate at a local restaurant on the marina and watched the boats tow past us and the waves break on the shorline… We ate at a pizza place on a dock surrounded by small shops and watching christmas lights reflect off of the still water… We even ate at Cracker Barrel and Red Lobster just because we could! The food was great everywhere.
I was sunburned on monday as we went to the ocean and I didn’t listen to my wife…. “No honey, I don’t need sunscreen yet… we’ll only be out for an hour…. I’ll get a base tan first….” Yeah…. whoops.
At least she loves me and took care of me despite my ignorance. Trust me honey… You’ve got a lot more of that coming….
I start full-time work at Cedar Creek after Memorial day. Sarah is working full-time at Cooper Tire in Findlay right now. Between the two of us, hopefully we can pay off our student loans in a couple of years! We’ve got almost $21,000 in student loans and that’s not including if she gets anymore this year. I’ve also got another $6,700 in a car loan I owe as well…. So… you know…. $30,000 of debt is always a good way to start a marriage…. … …. right? Gosh, why couldn’t I get on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and suck like most contestants and still walk away with $32,000? That’d freaking ROCK! Oh well…. for now we’ll concentrate on buying a kitchen table. Maybe someday we’ll actually pay off our debts…. then buy a house…. …. … …. and have kids…. ….. then be REALLY in debt…. Isn’t capitalism great?
Ok, I’m off to collect my hockey equipment from my mom’s house… I’m actually gonna get slaughtered…. I mean… play tonight. I’m so not in shape and 4 years out of practice. This ought to be interesting.

Congratulations on your marriage.
Debt is never fun, but sometimes necessary. I try not to abuse the privilege though…
