So I thought I had accomplished the impossible… I took out 15 worms with only 2….  After about 20 tries…  But you have to understand how this works… Each worm opponent has a difficulty setting.  1 being the easiest, 5 being the hardest.  I took out the following:

5 level 5s
4 level 4s
3 level 3s
2 level 2s
and 1 level 1.

So I’m doing my little happy jig… thinking that I just beat the game and now have invincible worm ability which is unlocked once you EARN it… then I realize that I have one more level…. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE HARDER THAN THAT???  Oh.  I see.

My 2 worms vs. 15 level 5s.  This is gonna take awhile…

(Update:  I had them down to 1.46% power and died!!! ARG!)

So in reality today I went to work and did some video editing… bout 4 hours worth… then I spent the time that is normally at small group with Sarah and one of the other couples from our group.  Micah and Kelly and Sarah and I all met at the disc golf course in BG… WOOT!

Micah and I were neck and neck most of the round, but I pulled out two birdies on the 16th and 17th to drop one stroke under him.  I had some pretty good drives, but the wind got brutal towards the end.  AND… as a result of the over 100mph winds we had yesterday… THAT’S RIGHT! 100MPH!  There were quite a few downed trees RIGHT in the middle of where I usually roll the disc on a few holes, so I had to improvise (thus the crappy score.)

Sarah is getting better too… she dropped quite a few strokes off of her last game!    I’m glad she’s having fun.  I like this a lot and if she’s not improving then she doesn’t want to play… so….  Yay for improvement.

After disc golf we went back to Sarah’s apartment and played euchre.  Sarah and I cleaned house twice in a row… and I must admit… Sarah did most of the work…   Monday night we have a “dinner and a movie” double date with Micah and Kelly again… that should be cool.  OK… time for bed.

Mood:  Content.

My New Addiction:

So I’m stuck playing Worms Armageddon for PC… Sad but true… and I’ve gotten to a point where I’m on the last level of the deathmatch mode… and it’s almost impossible to play… Basically it’s two of my worms versus 15 opponents… yeah… 2 vs. 15… the really scary part is that I’ve killed up to 13 of them!  It’s that last 2 that elude me… GRRR!  OK… Well, I’m off to work now, then going to Sarah’s for dinner and then our small group is meeting at her apartment to play disc golf at 6!    Much like the blind kid in teeball…. three strikes, I’m out.

… that almost sounds cruel…

OK…. now that the day has passed and Ben told the staff of CedarCreek already… I figure I’m safe to post it here… On Sunday night (7/6/03) Luke proposed to Sara!  He did it in front of his family down in Myrtle Beach on the pier in Surfside, S.C.  Family vacation = really happy for them…   They’d been dating for over 4 years and will be getting married about two years from now when Luke finishes up college… WOOT for them!    So now everyone in our small group is engaged… Kinda funny really…

Wedding Schedule:

Micah and Kelly – October 2003
Jayson and Jess – March 2004
Me and Sarah – May 2004
Luke and Sara – ???? 2005

Man that’s fun… In other news, Sarah picked out her wedding dress but I can’t see it…   I HAVE seen the bridesmaid’s dresses… We’ve got our hall reserved, church reserved, pastor (also our small group leader) reserved… Wedding party is confirmed… Lauren Miller is going to sing at our wedding!  I’m talking to photographers and florists… Sarah and her mom are looking at designing centerpieces for the reception tables…  We have a preliminary guest list… We’re cruising right along here!  The goal is to do as much up front as possible and save the stress when time is being crunched.  Speaking of which, I need to get crackin on those engagement photos and pick one out, clean it up, and get that announcement in the paper!

BACK TO NORMAL LIFE:

OK… I am sitting in my new leather, high-back, officemax chair that I bought/got for my birthday…  My mom paid for half of it… and I’m happy… I just decided that after 5 years of a folding chair, a nice office chair sounded great.  So at about 4am a nasty storm rolled in and I couldn’t sleep anymore… I got up and did what any engineer would do… I built something.  I assembled the chair and am currently enjoying it’s plush buttocks support…

Today Dugan and I went disc golfing… kinda… We were on the 11th hole of BG’s course… in 20mph wind… when it hit.  We both putted and our putts were caught in a 60mph gust… and ended up further away than when we started… then the 60mph rain came… FAST.  So needless to say we were soaked… and called it a day when whatever we threw ended up at a 90 degree angle from our original target direction.  Normally this wouldn’t have been THAT big of a deal except my $550 digital camera was with us!  Luckily it was preserved under Dugan’s shirt and in it’s case long enough for me to run the 1/4 mile to my car (not fun), and drive back to pick up Tim.

Later that night Dugan, Drew, and I went out.  We went to Temperance, MI. to play at Vienna park… That course SUCKED.  VERY hard course to shoot.  Extremely narrow with a LOT of trees and bushes.  I spent more time in the underbrush of the forest than I did on the fairway… Also, about 75% of the holes are curved to the right at the end…  This caters to forehand throwers like Luke and Drew, but destroys backhand players like Dugan and me.  In the end, I was a mosquito bitten, bitter, disc golfer that developed a quick hatred for Temperence, MI.

OK… gotta try and sleep… it’s almost 6am now…

Mood:  Awake!  (Stupid messed up internal clock…)

Eh… I gotta huge thing to say… but I don’t know if I have permission to tell you yet… It’s only fair that the person who this involves tells you first… …. ….   ::sigh::  Spose I’ll just wait it out and see what happens…

In the meantime… I’m gonna go play videogames….

Mood:  MUCHO BETTERO…

Eh… it’s the 4th of July…. Don’t think I’ll be doing much this year.  All my friends are on vacation or working… so… uhhh… I thought about going to the fireworks with my mom… but she’s probably going out of town with my step-dad…. So I’m getting lunch with Sarah tomorrow on her break, then gonna visit my relatives for a cookout thing…. won’t be seeing the fireworks though… it’s kinda sad…. but then again…. I don’t REALLY care… it’s just strange not going…. It’s also strange to think that the next time I have a chance to see fireworks it’ll be with my …. ….. dun dun dun…. WIFE!  I don’t think it’ll ever fully “hit” me until it’s final… but that sure is a fun thought to have…

So I just installed a new chipset fan on my motherboard… the previous one liked to make fun noises and stop spinning until I smacked the case really hard… Then it’d work again… but I figured it’d probably be best to buy a new one.  It took me 5 months to hunt one down!  It had to be a very specific one… and finally I got it through the official Abit parts reseller… Then it sat on my desk for another month… then when my computer started locking up randomly… I figured I should put it in to cool the chipset… …. … Just maybe….

I’m also working on getting my linksys router to not suck and keep kicking me offline once every 5 minutes… Not a ton of luck there, but at least I’m eliminating possible causes… Figure I’ll get to the end result EVENTUALLY…. The downside is that while I’m working on that, it’s down in my step-dad’s bedroom… and when he’s here… it’s like trying to work with someone staring over your shoulder all the time… and dropping really annoying jokes that are nothing more than insults in a joking manner… you know… the kind that you react to with… “heh heh heh…. ”  Then you drop the fake smile and sneer and look away… yeah.. so after an hour or so of that… I finally got it to a semi-working state and left…

I know it sounds like I’m a jerk here… but there’s only so much “Maybe you don’t know what you’re doing…. Want me to call (insert name) and have them teach you how to do that?” that I can take… especially when the person he’s talking about is someone who I dance circles around in computer knowledge… but to my step-dad we’re both “good” at it… VERY FRUSTRATING…. and the kicker is… he’s NOT being serious… he is totally sarcastic… and only looking to get a rise out of me… he stares at me with a smile on his face and then laughs when he gets me upset… and if it wasn’t for the fact that my internet connection in my room depends on that equipment in his room… I woulda walked out long ago…. in fact, I still considered it… I just don’t get the same pleasure out of harrassing someone to frustration that he does… somehow that’s not my idea of a joke…

OK…. I’m done ranting… I’m obviously in a bad mood… I’m gonna go sleep….

Freaky… I just found this via Anna’s site… Just goes to show that the Catholic population of America is NOT concerned when the pope does something like this… it’s just accepted as “OK” despite the obsurdity of it all…  The pope kisses the Koran and bows down to it… A book that blatantly tells that Christ was NOT GOD… that he was just a messenger… and then it tells Muslims to not befriend Christians or Jews, but to wage a Holy war…  … … Yeah… nice work pope… kiss that book…. moron….  MAN the Catholic leadership is a joke!

I am totally in agreement with Anna on this one… the world is quickly coming to an end.  Soon the Catholic faith will “join as one” with the other world religions…  Christ will have no place of distinguished glory in the eyes of the religions…  the New World Order will arise… and the end times will begin…. …. and I’m OUTTA HERE!  When is it gonna happen?  This year?  Next year?  50 years?  100 years?  No clue… but at the pace the pope is going now… I wouldn’t be shocked if it was tomorrow!

Updated link… I found this one when searching via Google and it is the same story without a lot of the propaganda/biased pictures…  I thought it was a more fair representation of what happened.

THIS JUST IN… New Disc Golf Personal Record = -7

Yeah… I played 54 holes of Disc Golf Today… shot +6 the first round (which is where I’ve been sitting lately and it’s been driving me nuts!), I tied my all-time record by shooting 0 the second round… and then in a feat of unknown power, I shot an all-time record of -7 the third round… WOOT!  (Sadly enough, the -7 STILL didn’t beat Luke and his freaking -10 or his record of -12.)  Ahh well… I’m getting there…

OK… I promised an update… Here’s the word… G…. Funk Daddy…. Money…. …. …. … ?

Thursday Morning I left with Sarah (Morning to me being noon… ) and went to her parent’s house in Mason, OH.  It’s about a 3 hour drive from my house just outside Toledo.  The purpose of this trip?  To meet one of Sarah’s old friends who is going to be one of her Bridesmaids in May… Allison Bryant… (Correct me if spelled wrong Sarah.)

Yeah, so Allison (Pictured on Right) was in Indiana and only a few hours from Mason, so decided to travel over and meet up with Sarah and I for a few days.  This makes more sense when you realize that Allison hails from a land called Oklahoma… home of oil rigs, mullets, and a few thousand married cousins… … (Disclaimer:  None of the previous insults apply to Sarah’s relatives… ….) ::looks around for Sarah::  OK… so anywho, after explaining to Allison that I know where her former hometown of Okmulgee got it’s name (OKlahoma, MULlets, and GEEtars…) I took her luggage up to Sarah’s room and then enjoyed the next day and a half of getting to hang out with Allison and Sarah… AND Sarah’s parents and brother Michael (Like the Blues would EVER beat the Wings in REAL life… Stupid video game…).

Then Sarah’s Dad (David) took us to a nearby country club to take our picture for our engagement photo for the paper.  I took my digital camera (thus you get to see the shots HERE! ) and David has some background with Photography so the shots turned out pretty nice.  We were working with a pretty harsh cross-light from the sun, but overall it looks pretty good I’m thinkin…  See what you think:

Fun, eh?  I think they’d be better if that ugly dude wasn’t in them…. but hey… just my opinion!  So moving on, the last night I was there I showed David how to use Photoshop Elements to clean up photos and stuff… He had a blast with it and was extremely grateful.  He sent Sarah home with a bulk pack of Epson Photo Paper for me… YEE HA FOR THAT!  100 sheets of Premium Photo Paper… FREE…. Yeah, I think I can swing that!  So anywho, I pimped out Rita’s (Sarah’s Mom) Palm Pilot and got to drive around in her Sebring Convertable for an hour.  We (Sarah, Allison, and I) went to the new Mason High School and Community Center… It is freaking insane.  One of the largest (If not THE Largest) high school’s in the nation.  They are definitely a RICH community.  … … or a very POOR community after the taxes are taken to pay for that building!  But they were having the Dance USA National Finals there that weekend so we got to see a sneak preview of one of the songs in it for free.  That was fun.  Those little 5 year old kids doing backflips were a RIOT.  The oldest were probably about 17 or so…

SO Saturday I came back home to work for the weekend… That’s when we took this photo of Chris on the phone…

What a GOOFBALL…. But he’s one of my best volunteers and will be sadly missed as he takes his permanent leave next month as his wife Cheryl gives birth to their firstborn child.  YAY FOR THEM!

Then Sunday we had a suprise party for Luke at Sara’s house.  Here’s a few pics from that:

(Luke’s initial reaction…)

(The cake)

(The Drewski…. one of my Groomsman)

(Luke and the Dugan… A Best Man and another crazy Groomsman)

(Sara and Luke)

(The Luke “SUPERHERO” Shot… Even Drew is gasping at it… and must turn his eyes away…)

So that’s my fun stuff…. OK… I’m off to bed.  Gotta get up for work in 7 hours.  PEACE TO THE IZZOUT!

Mood:  Fortuitous Amounts Of Glad

K… here’s the word… yo…. I gotta split and get to bed now… but I’ll update you with fun pictures as of late and stuff tomorrow…  I just got in from Cincinatti Saturday and have stuff to share… but for now I must sleep, then play disc golf in the morning….

STAY TUNED!

I totally copied this from MissyPorter (Thanks MP btw), but it deserves a read!

Pampered Chef consultants quiting over abortion support

June 24, 2003

New owner Warren Buffett gives millions toward destruction of unborn children.

A growing number of Christian, pro-life mothers are leaving lucrative careers with a national kitchenware company because of the new owner’s support of abortion.

“The Pampered Chef” is one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing kitchenware companies. Mostly stay-at-home moms who sell the products from home have driven the company, founded in 1980 by professing Christian and stay-at-home mother Doris Christopher. The company boasts more than 67,000 “Kitchen Consultants” and sales of $700 million annually.

But now, according to Citizen magazine, many Christian mothers are walking away from the company because Pampered Chef’s new owner, billionaire Warren Buffett, is a huge supporter of abortion. His Buffett Foundation, using company profits, has donated tens of millions of dollars to abortion-related causes.

Citizen reports that Buffett’s conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. — owners of such well-known names as Dairy Queen, See’s Candy, and Fruit of the Loom — has funneled millions of dollars to the Foundation. The Foundation, in turn, last year donated at least $11 million to pro-choice and “reproductive-rights” groups.

Among those recipients are international abortion-provider Planned Parenthood, the Population Council — chief promoter of RU-486 in the U.S. — and International Projects Assistance Services. IPAS, beneficiary of a five-year, $20 million commitment from the Foundation in 1999, is the principal manufacturer of the suction pumps used in abortions. According to Business Week, that financial backing permitted IPAS to double its capacity to produce and distribute “manual vacuum aspirators (MVAs).”

According to Citizen, the exodus of Pampered Chef distributors who are pro-life is gaining steam. It says resignations of top-selling distributors are catching the attention of company officials. Among those who have decided to quit the company is Tammy Gillespie of Tupelo, Mississippi. She excludes Buffett from her decision.

“It’s not between me and Warren Buffet, it’s between me and God,” Gillespie says. “I cannot bow before the Lord when I get to heaven and have Him look me in the eye and say, ‘You knew that your money was going to fund abortion.’ And that’s why I’m quitting the Pampered Chef.”

Gillespie says the decision was not a difficult decision for her and her husband to make. “We searched God’s Word and found a ton of scriptures that I believe that God led us to find and know exactly where God stands,” she says.

“The Book of James it says if you know what to do and you don’t do it, it’s a sin. So if you know where God stands on something and you choose not to do it because of finances or because you like the product, it’s sin.”

She says there was never any hesitation on her part about quitting a company that helps finance the killing of innocent babies. Citizen quotes a West Virginia mom and a 33-year-old Arizona mother of three who both also have resigned from The Pampered Chef over its financial support to abortion-related causes,

Buffett purchased The Pampered Chef in September 2002 and remained under the management of Mrs. Christopher at that time.

P.S.  Check out Steve Ruic’s Entry on Home Repair…

So uhh… my sister’s bird just pooped on my head…. that was disgusting.  I had JUST taken a shower about 20 min. prior and then kablam… poop on the head.  Stupid bird… And I even liked it for awhile…. So I just got done washing my hair (which thankfully isn’t much since I just cut it an hour ago, thus the “just showered” thing).  And I’m working on fixing my palm pilot and restoring my computer to the state of “Complete” again… I formatted it last week and am still re-installing… ALWAYS a pain.  So now I am off to the land of software and games.

Sincerely,
        Poophead

Mood:  Not bad considering what just happened….
